Bdivine - my story
Tell us about your business.
Hi, I am Antonette Marais, the owner of Bdivine. I work from home and specialize in nails and waxing. I also recently started a mobile service to help ladies in offices who don't have the tome to have their nails done.
What inspired you to start this business?
I was retrenched from a salon in 2009, which inspired me to start Bdivine. Since then, I have been working for myself, allowing me to build stronger relationships with my clients.
Where did the name of your business come from?
The day I was retrenched, my husband and I sat down that evening and thought of business names. Thus, the name Bdivine was born.

What is your proudest achievement or milestone so far?
I've been doing this since 2009 and feel grateful for sixteen years. After overcoming the pandemic, I can continue walking this road with my clients.
Can you share a memorable story?
In 2014, I moved my home salon and opened my first nail salon located in the Gants Centre Strand. I sold the salon in 2018 and am shared a new premises with a hair salon.
What advice would you give to someone starting a business?
Dress up and show up, never giving up, and be consistent. Be the example you want to see in others.
What do you enjoy most about being a business owner?
I feels like I have coffee with friends every day and am making a successful living.
What keeps you motivated to keep going, even on tough days?
Changing people's lives by being there for them, listening to their stories during every appointment, having the chance to pray for them, and inspiring hope in tough times.
